Mom with rare autoimmune disorder thanks doctors who delivered her triplets Nov 19th 2012, 13:36 Published November 19, 2012 Associated Press A mother with a rare autoimmune disorder is thanking her doctors in Miami for helping save her life and that of her triplets. Andrea Temperino was pregnant when doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital diagnosed her with Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that affects the muscles and nerves. The 34-year-old Temperino was spent days on a ventilator before being discharged. But on Nov. 1, doctors had to perform an emergency Cesarean Section when Temperino experienced a life-threatening complication with her pregnancy. The triplets will remain at the University of Miami/Holtz Children's Hospital for the next few weeks. Temperino and her doctors will address the media at a press conference Monday. The doctors believe Temperino is the first pregnant woman with triplets to be diagnosed with this condition in the country.
