Dealing with cancer: The importance of a good support system
May 2nd 2012, 16:24

My chemo-free three weeks has come to an end.  I used my time well and enjoyed visiting both of my children.

I also videotaped two television interviews on Huckabee about my fight with cancer.  Mike Huckabee is one of the loveliest men I have ever met—sincere, kind and brilliant!  We talked about my struggles and discussed the Mother's Day campaign currently being launched by the Noreen Fraser Foundation.

We must get more women to schedule mammograms and pap smears.  The statistics are shocking how many women are not tested, even though early detection (Stage 1) nearly guarantees survival.

The Noreen Fraser Foundation is offering free, celebrity e-cards which can be sent to your wife, mother, grandmother, sisters, nieces, daughters and friends with an entertaining message which also reminds them to make an appointment for their mammogram and pap smear.  More than 20 celebrities participated, including Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Will Arnett, Maya Rudolph and Jason Segel.

How fun would it be to receive a Mother's Day e-card from a celebrity?  It's a great idea and they are free!

To send a card go to: NoreenFraserFoundation.org

Dr. Manny Alvarez, senior managing health editor at FoxNews.com—and another wonderful, caring man—gave me the honor of interviewing me as well. I hope that many people will find this information valuable and as meaningful as it was to me.  Thank you, Dr. Manny!

Mother's Day is just around the corner.  Do something wonderful for all the women you love!  God Bless!

Noreen Fraser is living with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She is co-founder of STAND UP TO CANCER and co-produced the TV show, which raised 100 million dollars for cancer research.  Noreen went on to create the Noreen Fraser Foundation to raise money and awareness for women's cancer research. The 'Men for Women Now' program enlists men to ask the women they love to make appointments for their mammogram and pap smear. For more information: go to noreenfraserfoundation.org.  Noreen can be reached at noreen@noreenfraserfoundation.org and followed on Twitter @noreenfraser.
