Convertible high chairs recalled

The following recall has been announced:

CONVERTIBLE HIGH CHAIRS

DETAILS: Convertible high chairs distributed by Evenflo Inc., of Miamisburg, Ohio; sold at Toys "R'' Us and Walmart stores nationwide, and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012. The Evenflo high chairs can convert from a high chair to toddler-size table and chair. The recalled convertible high chairs come in three models: Dottie Lime, Dottie Rose and Marianna. Model numbers are located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair's legs. The high chairs were manufactured in China.

WHY: The activity tray on the high chair can unexpectedly detach and allow an unrestrained child to fall, posing an injury hazard to the child.

INCIDENTS: Evenflo has received 18 reports of trays that detached, including eight reports of children who fell from the high chair and sustained bumps and bruises.

HOW MANY: About 35,000 in the United States.
